First BTC TEAM BUILDING, Held

By: Sharamae L. Rabina and Jovie A. Jimenez

“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”

Last October 12, 2015, the Bethlehem Tutorial Center held its first ever Team Building Activity at the Bamboo Paraiso, Bolo Beach, Pandan, Alaminos City. Organized by Mr. James Ryan Nomus with Ms. Jovie Marie JImenez as the co-organizer, it was participated by the BTC administration and teachers. The purpose of this activity is for enjoyment, camaraderie and synergy.

In this activity, the teachers were grouped into two and were given tasks to accomplish at a given time.

The two groups were named – Team A “Janzelli” with Mr. Jan Mark Paulino as the team captain, and groupmates Hanzel Gallardo and Rejoiceli Vida Raguin as teammates, and Team B “Stunner” with Ms. Sharamae Rabina as the team captain, with Nick Caiga and Jefrey Paleb under her team.

The two teams performed their composed yell to fuel the fun. Competent as they were, the challenges that were given to the two teams were remarkably pulled off. The highlight of the event was the “Bottle Relay”. In this activity, they were able to display the importance of teamwork, notwithstanding the heat of the sun and the obstacles along their way.

In the end, one team stood up, the “Stunner”.

  1. Teamwork is one of the qualities that managers and heads repeatedly try to instill in the people they work with in order to ensure seamless and effective operations.
Without a doubt, it is definitely a necessity for people working together to be able to actually work WELL. However, assigning people to be part of a team doesn’t necessarily mean that they are already thinking like one solid unit; if every individual is new to a team, then it’s an extraordinary challenge for them to start learning to like and trust one another. There will be too many varying experiences, attitudes, and expertise, and all of them may come to a head at some point, giving rise to conflict that may constantly simmer if left unresolved or ignored.
